In 2017, Peace Lutheran Youth and Families (Dresser, WI) formed a relationship with First Lutheran Youth (Taylor's Falls, MN) to partner in Maple Syrup Ministry. Today the two churches have 2,500 taps/buckets in over 1000 trees at 5 major locations in the Taylors Falls (MN), St. Croix Falls (WI), and Center City (MN) areas. Generous land owners have donated sugar maple trees to tap, firewood, and a labor force that exceeds 50 youth and adults, during the maple season.
All syrup is cooked by Don Hansen in Don's Sugar Shack in Taylor's Falls, MN. Don’s Sugar Shack is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture as a wholesale food producer
Syrup is always available at Peace Lutheran Church for purchase. Also, individuals from Peace Lutheran can sell syrup and earn "maple bucks" to go towards various ministries, events & activities of the church.

In 2020, 24,958 gallons of sap was collected and 705 gallons of pure maple syrup was made. Maple sap in the St. Croix Valley has a high sugar content of 3 to 4 percent. About 30 gallons of sap is required to make 1 gallon of pure maple syrup.
Our syrup is used and sold in many bakeries, coffee shops and restaurants throughout the St.Croix Valley Area.
Special orders for maple candy, maple cream, and pure maple syrup in special packaging are available for wedding favors or special gifts.
If you are interested in learning more about wholesale prices and special orders, email firstname.lastname@example.org
If you would like to be involved in helping to collect the sap each year for this wonderful ministry, or in selling the syrup, contact Pastor Melissa (email@example.com), or text @plcsyrup to 81010.
Proceeds from the selling of the syrup goes to the ministries of Peace Lutheran Church and community partners. People who sell the syrup get to use their "earned maple bucks" towards mission trips, church donations, supporting Luther Point Bible Camp, events, activities and supplies for the ministries of Peace Lutheran.
